HONG KONG SAR – Votee, an AI consulting company, today announced two major expansions: the appointment of Dr Leo Ma as Chief Scientist for APAC and the launch of Beever AI, a new research laboratory in Toronto.
Dr Ma joins from his role as Dean of the Deloitte AI Institute in Hong Kong. He will lead Votee's AI strategy across Asia-Pacific, bringing extensive experience in AI application development and a PhD from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
The Toronto-based Beever AI lab will focus on foundational and agentic AI research, including low-resource large language models and enterprise agent applications. Chief Technology Officer Jacky Chan and AI Research Engineer Thomas Chong will lead the facility.
"Dr Ma's expertise perfectly aligns with our APAC vision," said Pak-Sun Ting, Votee's Co-founder and CEO. "Meanwhile, Beever AI positions us at the heart of Toronto's thriving AI ecosystem, strengthening our ability to deliver next-generation solutions."
"Votee's commitment to deep-tech research and ambitious AI vision is inspiring," said Dr Ma. "I look forward to driving innovation and creating impactful solutions for our regional clients."
Votee has also strengthened its team with Coco Ding, formerly of PwC, and Dante Lok, previously AI Engineering Lead at Omnichat.
